Like with many RPG’s, Skyrim took me a while to get into but now I have found my feet with it and understand all of the hype behind this game released 7 years ago.
The world is so immersive, beautiful and detailed. You can see the thought put into every aspect of the game, and I appreciate that. For my first play-through I have tried to take my time exploring everything, soaking up the lore, not worrying about armour or builds too much just yet. I wasn’t sure what I was doing at all at the start but have settled with investing points into conjuration/one-handed as I like playing with a summoned flame atronach + a bound sword.
At first, I thought the world was incredibly dull/grey and was disappointed as I’m a sucker for pretty graphics. I’m not sure if I have just explored more or of it’s because I included a couple of mods, such as Surreal Lighting, but the world is a lot more aesthetically pleasing as I go on.
Also on the topic of mods I downloaded one that gives the merchants at least 10k gold to make selling my items/getting gold a little easier. Not sure how much this is cutting corners lool but I feel it doesn’t detract from the gameplay too much.
The only thing I wish is that combat was more…enjoyable and less clunky. But I do appreciate that this game is a bit aged now, even if it is the remastered version on the PS4. I’m sure if/when Bethesda release a 6th instalment in the series they would improve on this.
Glad I picked this up again 😋
